An Amazing Church

If you look to the left, you'll see our home church, Jodeco Road United Methodist Church. We have been members there for about 4 or 5 years and we love it.  It is a very Spirit filled church and is a blessing to me and my family.
Last week Jodeco Road had Vacation Bible School (VBS) and it was awesome!  The theme was Operation Overboard, Dare to go deep with God and, in the usual Jodeco Road style, the church went deep with God.  The new building, Kulgar Hall, was decorated to appear as if it were at the bottom of the ocean complete with jelly fish, sharks, octopuses and a submarine helm. It was amazing. The youth in the church are a big part of VBS and they help facilitate the program by working with kids. It's great seeing the youth in service and it made me think of Proverbs 22:6, "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."
While I was at VBS, I learned that Jodeco Road has helped empower quite a few people to "go deeper with God". Over the past 20 years, the church has helped 4 people (that I know of) become full-time clergy and they have certainly been there for us as we prepare to be missionaries. Jodeco Road is not a huge church but it certainly has a HUGE heart.  The members empower, encourage and motivate each other through Sunday School, Bible Studies and serving together within the community, the state and around the world. It has been wonderful to be in the fellowship and service with such strong Brothers and Sisters in Christ and to call Jodeco UMC our home church. It's an honor and a privilege to have a church that is excited to be witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.  Thank you Jodeco Road for your help as we answer God's call and for standing along side us, we love you!

  1. Dear Griffith Family, thank you so much for this sweet blog about J.R.U.M.C. I hope you do not underestimate how vital you guys are to our church. You have challenged all of us to re-examine our own callings and to go deeper with Christ. God speed to you!
