Griffiths' New News!!

Exciting news to share with all of you! Nick, Heidi and Gilly are well into their second year in Kenya. Do hope you all are sharing their wonderful blog- www.griffithsonmission.blogspot.com with your congregations, friends, family and small groups.

Heidi delivered her first and second babies the past few weeks at the Baawa Clinic, she attended a herbal and natural medicine class in Kenya earlier this year and has already put some of her herbal knowledge to use!


Gilly and John are busy creating a series of new VBS videos to share with your churches ---they are both becoming quite good at video production!


Nick is working hard- with some of the village men on the water filtration system. Bible studies have blossomed, Friday movie nights at John's school are a hit, care packages with cookies, creamer, and other goodies arrive from the USA and the most exciting news of all------Nick was seen around the village in a MAN SKIRT--a shuka!!!


The Trivia Fundraiser at Jodeco Road UMC was a huge success back in February. Thank you to all the partner churches that participated in and supported this fun event. If you missed it--I think another event will be in the future. Updates to follow.

Plans for the mission trip to Kenya July 21-Aug 8 are well under way. Contact Rev. Joe Peabody (joepeabody@yahoo.com) for more information on this mission helping Nick and Heidi with several planned projects in Baawa.

The 2014 Living Water Walk and Run will be held Saturday, September 13, 2014. The event will take place at a new venue this year----Heritage Park, 101 Lake Dow Road, McDonough. Would love to see many, if not all of the Griffiths partner churches---the event is great fun, good exercise, crafts, food and a fun family outing. This important yearly fundraiser provides clean drinking water, medical care and tools for sharing the Gospel with our neighbors on the other side of the globe!

Now, for the grand finale of excitement-----The Griffiths will be home on furlough for several months beginning in late November!!!!
They will be visiting you--the Partner churches---while on furlough! Below are dates they are available for visitation. Jodeco Road UMC will soon have a Volunteer Spot set up on the JRUMC website for convenient sign up. Watch for more info about the Volunteer Spot via Jodeco Road UMCs website in the future to schedule a time with the Griffiths.
